Roll, roll, roll your boat!: Sun 21 July 19

Large Linocutting at The One Show Festival

Roll, roll, roll your boat!
Sun 21 July 19 at Hartlepool Waterfront Festival
Linocutting from 12pm onwards
Print time TBC

All aboard for some highly unusual nautical fun! Northern Print will be working with a team of volunteers to print a giant linocut print with a real-life boat on Sunday 21 July as part of the Hartlepool Waterfront Festival and the Northern Festival of Illustration.

Participants have been working in museums across the Tees Valley to carve large scale lino blocks using museum collections items and local landmarks as inspiration for the designs. The finished panels will be placed together and printed as part of the Waterfront Festival, truly getting into the spirit of the event by using a boat and boat rollers to print the image.

Join us to help us complete the design and make a print of your own to take home with you before cheering the rolling team on and seeing the finished print.  Take a picture of your handywork and share it on social media using the hashtag #rollyourboat

The event is the latest in a series of audacious large scale linocuts that Northern Print have previously produced with vintage steamrollers and a rugby scrum roller. As far as we know this is the first time anyone anywhere in the world has attempted to print like this with a boat so join us on Hartlepool Waterfront to see whether it is possible.
