This six-week series of half-day classes focuses on different processes within the family of printmaking referred to as ‘Intaglio’. Introducing and exploring drypoint and etching. This course offers beginners and experienced printmakers the opportunity to try out a range of intaglio techniques.

What you'll learn
Suitable for artists, illustrators, designers and anyone with an interest in printmaking, the course will allow for a range of creative expressions. This will include how to get started with your ideas and how to choose and develop your imagery. Don’t worry if you aren’t confident in your drawing skills as the process allows for a range of techniques to transfer and develop images.
The processes and techniques covered will allow you to develop a wide range of skills within the intaglio process. Creating hand-drawn and painterly images with the opportunity to explore monochrome, colour and mark-making. You will be using acid, etching presses and explore different types of paper and ink. You will have access to a selection of original artists work in our gallery and archive to inspire you.
The aim is to provide a supportive, creative and playful environment to explore and enjoy printmaking. Taking place in our studio using professional facilities and materials. Taught by Northern Print’s staff team this is the perfect introduction to anyone wishing to join the studio and continue to make intaglio prints.
One of the unique features of this course is that we offer ‘stay and play’ after each session giving you space and time to experiment, develop your ideas and hone your skills.
